Okay, a little back story. A couple months ago I went in for an EGD (where they stick a flexible camera/scope down your throat) as part of a follow-up on some banding I had done to stop some vericose veins from bleeding in my esophagus. I paid part of the bill, my health insurance paid the rest. The other day, I get a check in the mail from the surgical center that performed the EGD. I was a bit confused since I normally mail checks to hospitals, not get money back from them. I called them and was told that it was a refund and that the money was mine. SWEEEET :thumb:
So, naturally, I did some Christmas shopping with it. One of the gifts I bought was a Planet Bike Blaze 1W/SuperFlash combo (http://ecom1.planetbike.com/3047.html) for my wife. I was now in a bit of a dilemma: the lights were a Christmas present, but my wife and I talked about going out one night riding and looking at the Christmas lights. I didn't want to spring it too soon, but if I waited until Christmas, it may be too late to go see the Christmas lights (there was also the issue of sneaking the thing in under her nose, but I had a plan in mind). Anyways, last night my wife asked me if I'd like to go out for a quick bike ride around the neighborhood. ZING! Problem solved. :D
I told her to wait "right there" while I ran out to the car to get her gift. She loved it (even though she earlier told me not to go to the trouble for Christmas). I mounted the lights on her bike, set mine up, changed clothes, and we went out riding, at night, in the fog, looking at Christmas lights. It was so enjoyable. We just went at a steady pace and rode for about three miles (barely a warm-up for me, but the longest she's ridden in unknown number of years). I can't wait to do it again.
