The Yetis are nice. My favorite was a set of cheap Bontrager grips. They wore out quickly but for some reason I really liked them.

I have a set of profile design dual durometer grips on my ride, I am very pleased with them, however I fear that this is another question like:which platforms do you prefer, or which hardtail is best for me. Lots of opinions as everyone is not the same, try some out and decide which ones you like best.

THe Oury/ODI Combos that I am currently using, are a bit bigger around than I like. I preffer a slimmer Lock on grip Such as the surfas. The Nashbar house grips works OK for the money, and I always liked the K-2 Pipeclamp grips. Ive been running the Titec Pork rinds on the hardtail, and find it very comfortable. It is prone to twist without safety wire.

I liked my Salsa Pepperjacks and Oury grips before switching to ODI lockons, got tired of the elements getting between the bar and grip. I like the Oury and ODI Rogue for the lockons best, but the ODI Ruffians aren't too bad either although a bit skinny.

Huge fan of the Ourys. I like the larger grip, plenty cushiony and grippie

I've got ODI Rogues on four of my mt bikes, the fourth (a commuter) sports a pair of Ergon GR2s. I've tried the Ruffians but didnt like them. They were pretty abrasive on my gloves til they wore out and became slick. The Rogues offer a better grip. The Ergons are really great on commutes. Very comfy and the integrated bar ends offer different hand positions.

Lizard skins peaty lock ons. Lock ons are the only way to go...easy to install, easy to pull off if you need to change components around.

i like ritchey TVG grips .. kind of a bump in the middle.. and they are cheap. I run them on all my flat bar bikes.

As said before, grip choice is a personal thing. That said, I really am sold on the Lock-On type, having ridden for years with glued on/hair sprayed on old school grips. Changeout is soooo easy with the Lock-Ons.

I personally like the ODI Rogues, fairly big grip and seems to go with my big-assed hands. Also, the pattern on the Rogues is the same all around, so I can spin 'em around as they wear, get more mileage out of 'em.

But I am considering cutting down some of these to twist shift size:

all my bikes get the same grips, sette lock on's. the spickeys (not so techical term) on the outside wear out quick but the grips themselves last a very long time, and they never slip.

+1, super cheap at MEC, and I have small hands, so the grip shift version works for me with bar ends, and I can still have the old school "narrow" setup.

ran yeti's for years with alot of luck (their still on the singlespeed) but recently switched to the gx-1's from ergon after a little hessitation...never regreted the change once since mounting them. I was really expecting it to be alot harder to hold onto the bar but it never became an issue, im guessing its because the backside has a pretty good sized cut out so you can wrap your hand around the grip completely.

I hate those grips. Nothing I could do kept them from spinning. Sugar water, hair spray, I even tried elmer's glue. But thats just me, Prolly did something wrong. But they opened my eyes and showed me how stupid I was being by not getting lockons.

i tried the Ergon GX1s and hated the pointed part so i switched to the GR1s and after adjusting perfectly, they are the best grips I've ever tried!

i ride a power line trail where I think the power lines hang too low.. touch any metal on the bike on this trail and you get static discharge... I think I'll stay away from the lock ons.

I have a well-worn pair of Yetis (without the lockons) and they are great. Tried the Ritchey grips but didn't like the feel of the grid-like texture on bare hands. I prefer a low profile grip to something like the Ourys.

I rock odi rogues on both my trail bikes. I like the fatness of 'em.

That said, with the grip itself being a subjective thing, I do like ODI's clamping mechanism and end-plug. I havent used everything out there, but the ODI's are the best I've dealt with thus far.
