I was doing my morning nerd-scan of the internet and I found this article on Gizmodo, its aparrently some kind of stick-on vinyl that appears black, but when light is shined directly on it, it lights up like a christmas tree, my description sounds off, but check out the link and the video...

Hmmmmmm.....
I really want it. It seems that they only want to sell it in 50 yard rolls, but I did find some smaller rolls for ten bucks: http://3m.hillas.com/pc-24862-3172-3m-79902-scotchlite-reflective-striping-tape-black-1.aspx. Presumably the Bright Bike people will release a kit soon to make the sheets of it more affordable.

I likes it. Too bad I don't like black bikes. But it's safe. Which is good. I think.

Their site is kind of silly. It doesn't work properly in Firefox. I had to switch to IE, and even then it acts weird. Go to http://3m.hillas.com/c-3172-3m-scotchcal.aspx and select whatever size you're interested in on the left. I'm looking at 1 inch by 50 ft. White, black, gold, red, blue, green, orange, yellow. About 40 bucks. Hmmm, not sure if its worth it.

Most custom sign shops work with/deal in 3M vinyl, and will sell you a sheet, if you dont feel like buying an entire roll.

Nope. Try calling around.
I do know that the place at 22nd and Main in Vancouver BC will sell it though.

They also make 3M Reflective tape and paint that construction workers use, you could probably find it at any construction supply store or even Home Depot maybe? Do they have those over there? Anyways, like he said nearly every sign shop or sign supply shop carries it too.

I like that strips on the rims. Would look clean with black rims.

Here is where you can buy it. (http://www.streetglo.net/reflective.motorcycle.frame.kit.html)
I have this exact tape, and it's awesome. It's also somewhat stretchy, so you can 'curve' it to apply it to your rims, like I did below.

Black Magic. He linked it in his post. http://www.streetglo.net/reflective.motorcycle.frame.kit.html
Though imo it seems to me like they might just be reselling the 3M stuff at significant markup.

Identi-Tape (http://www.identi-tape.com/eng-sr1.html) has multiple widths (1", 2", 4")... and a bit more competitively priced.
But, if you want thin strips that Hillas (http://3m.hillas.com/pc-24862-3172-3m-79902-scotchlite-reflective-striping-tape-black-1.aspx) site kylejack linked to is a pretty killer deal. 1/4" x 50' for $10 is pretty good.
The stuff I linked has a small sheet of a variety of widths - approx. 5/8", 1/2", 3/16" - so it's a bit easier to just peel and apply. No cutting down from a wide strip.
It's also much thinner and somewhat more durable than some of the fatter rolls of reflective tape I've used. When applied, it sticks really well and is hard to scratch. I tried another brand of a 1" roll that was cheaper, but it had a much thicker softer feel, scratched easier, and had a tendency to peel up from the edges.
I have no idea of the brands, so (shrugs) the stuff kylejack linked to might be the same stuff...

Avatar 130 gel (or 145).
I have the 130, love it on my MTN bike.

That's where I get mine. It's dead cheap too.

Blind as many motorists are , every bit of reflective stuff can't hurt... Still, with a reflective vest, reflecterized rims, and ankle braclets, that would seem to be enough.
