Hello,

Im converting my old ten speed into a single speed. I have a question about the bottom bracket:

What is the best way to put some 3-piece cranks on the bike? Since it is an old bike, probably 70s or maybe early 80s, it has the old school American style BB:

Should I get this euro bb conversion or just find an American BB that can take a 3 piece crank set up?

then i would be able to put on some BMX style cranks, yes?

I think you can get convertors like the one pictured that will accept standard cups. You could also get 3-3-piece bmx cranks that don't need a convertor, if memory serves.(press-in cartridge bearings with proprietary spindle and crankarms)

thanks! i think i'll look into the standard conversion for the 3 piece cranks. for some reason i thought i had to change it to Euro BB if i wanted to put on bmx cranks.
