Christmas tree that is - and the mule, well, on this snowy day it happened to be "Perkins." That's what I call my 69 Raleigh Record 10-sp. In tow was a Burley D-Lite trailer I traded for a logo design. It's the first snow of the season right after Thanksgiving. And although there was no accumulation, the heavy consistent snowfall put me in the mood to go fetch a Christmas tree.

I hitched up the trailer for its maiden voyage and headed up to the local greenhouse. As I pulled in, I was immediately surrounded by SUVs, wagons and trucks. HA! The guys sort of scratched their head and said, "well, go pick out a tree - guess you're getting a small one?!" As a matter of fact I did, a five-footer which is plenty big for our condo. I got my ticket, paid for the tree and walked down to hop in the queue with my bike along with the other vehicles. It was mostly a high-school and college crew and this particular guy was very helpful and getting my tree secure in the trailer.

Apparently this isn't the craziest he's seen. Last year, there was a motorcyclist who bought a tree and asked to have it strapped to his back. Yikes!

Proof that it can be done! I use my longtails and trailers more and more, my car can rest for days and days.

Yesterday I bought a great leather harness for the dog, so it is time for him to start working too..
