Anyone hear anything about RR recently, like yesterday Dec 18th?

I got nothing. What happened, since I doubt you started this cryptic new Rock thread for no reason.

I read somewhere -- forget where exactly -- that they are having financial issues.

Maybe Hamilton stole the petty cash?

Kidding aside, it would be interesting to know what happened. They did seem to be a pretty atypical outfit.

I haven't heard anything as of yesterday, but there was an article recently about layoffs at Rock and Republic.

I heard that RR shut down yesterday. Seems some office type people were told they didn't have jobs yesterday, i.e. they had jobs earlier (a few days prior) but not as of yesterday. Since the person in question was the only one that could confirm, wasn't sure if it was one really mad person or if it really was done for. Wanted to confirm as there are folks here that seem to be in the know as well.

If it was they're doing a good job at keeping it quiet. Doesn't seem to be anything out there about it.

Their site still says "Rock Racing :: Here to Stay."

Would be kind of ironic though.

Except for on here.

I think I said it earlier in the other thread, but usually rumors like these tend to be more true than most other industry rumors.

I always felt with a tag-line like that they were going to be short-timers. It's almost like they were trying to convince themselves that they were going to be around for a while more than the fans.

Chevy's slogan used to be "like a rock"... ya, a rock with with 15 billion government bailout dollars keeping it grounded. I hope nothing happens to rock racing though.

Tell me about it. My new ROCK RACE knuckle tattoo is gonna be so ironic even hipsters won't think it's cool if they fold.

Rock Racing has been sending email offers to every club on USAC's mailing list. They're selling team kits and other things. Times must be tough. rockracing@onestopinternet.com --> spam filtered

Exactly. It's like saying, "I've never crashed in a race!"

Apparently somebody is delighted in the idea that they will "Stop Racing (http://www.cafepress.com/StopRacing)". (Nope, I have nothing to do with this!)

I bet that the advertising agency for Viagra is mad that Chevy got that song first.
