2 questions for pista owners:

1) Has anyone stripped the paint from a celeste Pista? what is underneath? (pics? a link?)
furthermore, what is underneath the paint on the fork
2) Anyone have a good source for a straight blade steel fork (for cheap?), 1" threadless of course. bikecult has one but it is threaded.

you can get a threaded fork that's longer than you need it to be, and when you trim it to as long as it should be, voila! threadless.

I have a steel fork, but its not straight bladed. I'd be willing to get rid of it for cheap if you're interested.

Edit: If you actually have a celeste Pista, don't strip the paint.

I hope you have the gang green pista and not a celeste. If you strip a celeste pista I'll personally come over there and swiftly kick you in the ass.

If you strip a celeste pista, you're a ****ing ******* and you should be sodomized with a jackhammer.

ok, edit, it is not a celeste pista, it is a gang green pista, I stand corrected (even my wife said she knew it was gang green).

no sodimization will be necessary (but thanks for the offer).

sneaky viking (http://www.bikeforums.net/member.php?u=21394) is your fork a straight blade? I am looking for a straight bladed fork (in new york city).

lets try this again:

has anyone stripped the paint from a GANG GREEN pista? etc...

Oooooh. OK. Well, in that case, do as you will, but Gang Green is still a sought after color. Couldn't you just find a chrome pista to do it to?

Steel is under the paint. It will not become magically chrome...

Your wife had to tell you, sad.

1) first, I thought it was hot that my wife knew more than I did

2) where there are paint chips on the frame, it looks as though the frame is chromed (have you ever seen one...nope, because you recently posted about buying a pista that was way overpriced on the ebay/craigslist thread) the fork does not look as though it is chromed

Ok, so I guess i will not strip the bike, I am thinking about stripping the fork because I dont like the unicrown look anyway and I will probably change it out soon anyway.

Anybody know where to buy gang green touch up paint? (maybe an autoparts store?)
