i know the Red is suppose to give you more float so knee problems, but i dont see how. I look at both of them and they look EXCATLY the same, where do they differ? and are the black cleats easier to unclip from?

the red ones have and arc at the bottom. I use red ones, love em.

At the back of the cleat there is a little difference. I can use either the red or the black ones really, but I prefer the black (fixed) because I haven't managed to get the Look squeak with them yet. Only took 3000 miles with the red ones before it started and drove me crazy.

I find that it takes a few months, but I start getting knee pain from the black ones. Switched to the red and within a week my knees were fine. Choose carefully!

The black cleats do not float. Your foot is locked in when clipped. The red cleats can float at an angle as set on the pedal (0, 3, 6, or 9 degrees). Because of the float, the red cleats may be easier on your knees.

After looking at the cleats i have and the look cleats on ebay. Mine are totally different, same shape but at the bike they look different. Hmm i got pedals from Bianchi and they are wellgo pedals and i guess they sent me some generic cleats...Should i grab some off ebay?

I have an old pair of Shimano 105 pedals with no float adjustment I'm keeping for a beater. What, if anything, happens if I use the red cleats?
