Got a new Park Tool work stand, the 180 dollar model pc4? The one lower from the top of the line model 5. Anyways, the thing is sort of cheap, nothing like a shop stand, which it states has the same type durability? Pop my bike in and the clamp is not level, as if my 18 pound litespeed is pulling the stand forward, so now I need the unit to keep the front wheel for turning right on me? It much better than nothing, but for 180 bucks, I expected it to at least - not lean when my bike is in the clamp!

Wow, have you called the folks you bought the bike from? I understood the PCS-5 to be a very strong, sturdy, dependable stand.

Now I'm scared... I'm supposed to be ordering my stand tomorrow, and I'd planned on getting the PCS-1.

I got the pcs 4 and Im not saying its junk. I guess I had this idea that it would be like a shop stand in some respect, since it did say in the ad - shop stand quality, well I dont think the pcs 4 is. I guess my frustration is with the stand being level when my bikes are in the clamp. The front wheel turns off to the right, and yes I checked the workroom floor for being level. I guess Im just picky, but for 180 bucks, I want a level stand, thats all.

A shop level Park single arm is around $400 and that is with out the sixty pound base plate, another $100 plus getting it shipped. The less exspensive stands do OK considering the bike hanging off it often weighs more than it does. I like my PRS-5 for its portability and durability.

Does your clamp rotate? Whenever I clamp a bike into my workstand, I usually rotate the clamp as if the bike is going downhill. That keeps the front wheel from flopping from side to side.
