A few of us old guys were telling stories and remembered one that just cracked me up.
Back in the seventies five of us had loaded up our old VW bus and were on the way to the Southeastern regionals outside Charlotte NC.
Suddenly we heard this wild honking and horn blowing, and a line of half a dozen cars came by with all the guys from Greensboro where we had raced the Carolina Cup the day before. We could not let the challenge lie. So we cranked up the bus, jumped on the wheel of the last car, and when we had some speed (the top speed of a bus was about 55mph) we pulled into the left lane and yelled "prepare to broadside!" As we went by we filled the windows of the bus with naked butts.
The funny part was that in the middle of the convoy was the future Vice President of Shimano, Wayne Stetina, and his brother Dale, and while everyone else was laughing thier heads off, Wayne and Dale got completly P.O.ED. maybe that's why I've always liked Campy.
