What bikes do you look at for ~ $2500USD other than: Trek 2300, Lemond Zurich, Specialized Roubaix, Litespeed Firenze, Cannondale R2000? I don't mind going esoteric, but I don't want to drive 2 hours to look at it either. This is currently my short list with the Lemond leading the pack as far as preference. And I don't like all carbon.

I don't see a Bianchi on that list...for that matter, I don't see a Pinarello either...

I haven't gotten to ride the Bianchis yet. I like the Virata and SL3 in that line. Pinarello I hadn't thought about. The Opera looks very interesting. I can't seem to find a dealer locator for them. Cervelo I'd cheked out briefly, none in my size to try. Thanks, so far.

Consider the 2004 Giant TCR alloy if you rather skip CF, its full alum with the curve seat stay and longer carbon post its very comfortable but good power transfer.

I looked at Orbea today. Very Nice. Mitis 3 with Centaur 10 speed $2300USD. Not heard too much about them. Need to ride it. Alum with carbon triangle. I also looked at Zona CroMo with Centaur for $2000. Only comes as a frame set. Nice stuff though.
