Texas - **new ride every sunday in dallas**

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Send me your email and I will send you details on Saturday before the Sunday evening ride. I've been playing around with the start time because it's been getting dark by 6:30.
I know I'm a uber ******-bag for not making it out on the Sunday morning fixed ride at WR but 10am Sunday morning is not my brightest hour :) Maybe this weekend if it's awn...

Hopefully this sunday I'll be on the bianchi road bike I just got.
Yes. A road bike.
With gears.
And the ability to coast.
I wonder if I'll ever get used to it....?

30+mph winds=no riding today.
Sorry folks, we're just not into that.

Awww, don't let a few breezes keep you in!
I have found that in this area, it's usually too hot, or if not, usually too cold, too rainy, or too windy. So I just try to get out and do stuff anyway. If it's really windy, I try to pick my ride so I can ride into the wind, and then when I get tired, turn around and coast back home. I'll ride slower, of course, and don't necessarily ride as far. Usually, I can crank on into the wind (52 gear-inches), although it makes hills that much harder. I'm not afraid to stop and rest if I need to, either. The road bike ought to be great for the wind, though a lot of those fixed gear bikes may be geared too high for it. The White Rock Lake trail is exposed to the wind pretty bad, but you have the advantage that you keep changing directions as you go around it, too. If you get out on some of the residential streets with lots of trees and houses, that'll block out some of the wind. I rode over to Richland College and back this afternoon, got in 26 miles or so. It was windy, but a lot of it was a cross-wind to the way I was going. I think I averaged 12.3 mph for the ride. The porta-potty above was at Richland. It was pointed in the prevailing wind direction, so I assume it had blown over.

Hey guys, I will NOT be out there this sunday.
Sorry for the late notice, but something came up I absolutely cannot miss.
Sorry again.
I'm a hell of a ride organizer, ain't I?!

Well folks, I now have a job that requires me to work sundays.
I guess this means no more sunday morning white rock rides (at least with me there).
Brianchester knows the route, but lives in denton, so I don't know if he's gonna want to take this one over.
Thanks to all that came out!
Can a mod delete or at least lock this thread please?
