Considering this frame-- is it a good deal?

I would pass given the price - keep in mind, it's not a Cinelli frame, it's a frame from an unkown builder using Cinelli parts. Maybe someone can ID it from the pics, but as a well-made no-name I'd look elsewhere - it's certainly not a screaming deal.

Hmmm, I'd guess with the "Flying C" in the crown, it is a Cinelli... or the fork is, at least my 84 Super Corsa is identical. The powdercoat is not original though.

Same seatstay treatment as the OP's bike?

Definitely not the same as my 1984 SC, which I bought new and know is genuine.

I'm just talking about the crown, can't see enough otherwise. Here's my 84, ordered brand new, so I know its genuine too! (seat, bartape, freewheel, tires changed over the years) Not sure they sold those crowns for other uses....

PS: does look like a road fork, maybe that's the only Cinelli part!

Now THAT's a Cinelli, with the classic seatstay cluster - not the one on the OP's bike (which I'm betting is not Cinelli but made with Cinelli bits).

dbakl, I think that if you examine the fork in the eBay auction, you'll agree that though it is a Cinelli fork, it's not the same as yours, or mine, for that matter.

Love the Anthracite Gray, BTW. A friend had that color, so I ordered the China Blue.

Yeah, the Flying C is raised inside a recessed circle; on my the C and the circle are recessed. But the crown shape looks the same, other than no chrome. I'm not that familar with later Cinellis, but I believe they made some without the classic seat bolt treatment, and no chrome as well. Heck, I saw Cinelli mountain bikes in Japan!

Maybe - but I'm sure those frame parts were widely available. And the ebay seller himself does not appear to be claiming it is a Cinelli frame, at least by my reading of the auction text.

As a point regarding the original bike, most true Cinelli track frames I've seen have flat fork crowns.

maybe a little hijackery...but, this (http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-vintage-campagnolo-equipped-CINELLI-bike-60s_W0QQitemZ130277313756QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item130277313756&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A10%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318) looks pretty good. what say the experts?

as a non-expert, I'd say it looks like the real deal, and If that's Mateo selling it it probably is. No 3-holes in the lugs and I *think* I see a single hole in the drop out for an early Campy RD with a return spring (?experts?) It would be nice to see the decals up close and a head badge shot.
Edit: didn't see the wooljersey link: it IS Matteo Brandi and there is no headbadge, anymore....pretty frame anyway.

It sold for $485.00
