So my second bike mount that came with the Edge 705 broke yesterday. That darn release tab seems to snap off so easily! Is it just me? I don't think I am pushing on the tab hard. Whatever the case, Garmin is saying that it is going to take about 3-5 weeks for the bike mounts to arrive. FORGET THAT! I just purchased two more from eBay at $13.45 each shipped.

Have anyone else experienced the tabs breaking off the mount? Is there a stronger option out there or a compatible bike mount that isn't so flimsy? Anyhow, thanks for hearing out my rant.

Touratech (http://www.touratech-usa.com/shop/navigation.lasso) makes a variety of industrial strength mounts for the adventure motorcycle touring set.

Do the Edge 305 and 705 use the same mount? I've been using my 305 for 3 years and no problems so far with the mount.

I have busted one by pressing the release tab too far on my 705. Now I go very gentl on it. I can where pressing it to far bends it. I think the plastic could be a little thicker there.

The 205/305 and 605/705 use the same mounts.

The tab should be on the left, not the right. If you have it on the right, it doesn't mount correctly and you push too hard on the tab. I found that out by mounting it wrong myself the first time.

I thought if it was on the wrong side the GPS was upside down? So YOU would know if it was on the wrong side....? NO?

I have broken 3 of them.. They are flimsy and break very easily, even if you baby them.. I would contact garmin through there email support and ask for them to be replaced.. I bought extra off ebay just because I knew they would eventually break..
