Had some lateral play on my Pantour hub and got frustrated enough to just buy a new Kinetix wheel without the hub to replace it. I had every intention of tossing the rim based on some non responsive stuff I read on the internet about the hub and Pantour.
In short I decided, what the heck....I'm going to put another wheel on it anyway, why not at least try to contact the company and see what happens.
They pretty much responded immediately to my email and indicated that they'd fix it if it were less than a year old (which it is). I requested some stiffer elastomers as I feel that's where the failure came from. I think that's going to set me back 10 bucks or so.
Just boxed up the wheel and will ship out tomorrow to their factory in CA. I don't really smell any trouble here and if it can get fixed for even a few bucks or a few more than what I think I'm good with it.
At that point I'll give the wheel another shot and if it fails again it goes in the trash. In the mean time I'll have a Kinetix wheel standing by ready to roll which is being shipped to me as we speak. My bike is going to be down a week or two depending on mail delivery (FPO address and Christmas time ) but no sweat, it's not like this is my only bike.
Anyway Pantour seems responsive and if it goes some other direction I'll be sure to post an update.
