Electric Bikes - Range on an Izip with throttle alone?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I've already searched tht forums, and I didn't find much. I've looked at the Izip ads, and they say range is 15-20 miles, pedal and weight contingent.
So I'm wondering how far one of these will go with just the throttle, which is an option. ...My ultimate quest is to throttle to work and then pedal home.

If you're referring to the SLA models (IZIP Trailz AL (http://www.eco-wheelz.com/catalog/izip-trailz-al-electric-bike-p-38.php), IZIP Mountain Trailz (http://www.eco-wheelz.com/catalog/izip-mountain-trailz-al-p-37.php), etc.) IZIP rates most at "Up to 25 miles with normal pedaling". This means you have to pedal to get the top range. From my experience, most riders get between 12-15 miles with throttle only. Keep in mind, you can add an extra battery pack to these models to double the range.
I also mentioned in another post that Currie (IZIP) is coming out with a new Li-Ion upgrade pack next year for their SLA bikes. This means you can convert your SLA battery to Li-Ion which will be much lighter weight, have an improved range (I believe it will be up to 30 miles) and about 3 times the life. Not sure about the price yet, but it will be an option soon...
The Izip Trailz Enlightened, didn't have a throttle only option. I went 17 miles on a charge with pedal assist

None of the enlightened models have throttles...
