just check the local yellowpages under powdercoating.
Call around,
We've got a guy here in Savannah, who will strip your frame, prep it and powder coat it any color you want and then clear coat it for $80.00

Wow, that's cheap. That'd cost 150$ out here. It'd be about 80$ if you stripped and prepped it, no clearcoat.

That sounds about right.... I work next door to a custom automotive spring shop and one of the guys that work there's into restoring vintage Schwinn cruisers. Anyway, he tells me he can get my frame powercoated for about that.

I tried to call a couple of places out here, none of them seemed to have any interest in doing such a small job. Almost seemed like my buisness would just be a hassle for them.
So if anyone knows a place here in Minnesota which does the work, please tell me. I have at least 2 bike I would like to get done.
$80 is exactly what I paid for frame and fork. I got the place recommended from my LBS. And if you pick a paint they already have "loaded" you might get a break.
Look for a place that does motorcycles. Almost every piece in the place I went to was a motorcycle piece.

I'm going to get mine done for about 100 bucks here in Wichita, Ks as soon as i can afford 100 bucks-- thats my lbs taking parts off, having my lbs send it someplace, then putting it back together. Yes, I'm lazy, but it seems like a great deal to me.
sounds like a good idea for my beater. so for that price, they will fill in chips and stuff like that too? just wondering cuz my frame has some rust and deep scratches and other beaterly looking things in it. i dont know anything about powdercoat paint... is it a strong protection against rust? or just a nice hard glossy finish that looks good and offers some protection?
I don't believe they will "fill in chips." They will sand blast it though to get the old paint and rust off. The powdercoat I got covered everything and looks great, with a great finish.
