I have searched a few spoke length calculators and cant seem to find my hub/rim combo on any of them. I am wanting to relace my front wheel to a straight lace set up but am not sure the spoke length I need. I am running a standard setup like alot of you. Velocity Deep-V rims with Formula sealed hubs. I am new to wheelbuilding so my numbers might be off but I did my best at calculating the length I will need to straight lace the front wheel.

The number I came up with was 235.7mm on the UBI Spoke Length Calculator.

Is this correct or did I screw up somewhere?

That sounds in the ballpark range. It might be worth having the LBS do it if you don't plan on building wheels again.

If you do, you might want to buy a caliper so you can get precise measurements. It only takes a bit of training to get the exact measurements and plug them into a spoke calculator.

I will have the LBS do it. The thing about that is I work there. I am doing this for my own benefit and for the knowledge so I can help others as well. I have built a wheel before. Rolf rear wheel. All I had to do on that is replace the hub so I had spokes to measure before ordering new ones. I really enjoy working on wheels and am very interested in learning as much as I can about them. I just dont want to waste the money on the wrong parts. We have calipers at the shop so I will try that. The shop manager is an @ss hat so I dont even want to ask him for any advice on this.

I ran these numbers in MachineHead's Wheelcalc:
ERD: 582
Center to Flange Distance: 31
Effective Flange Diameter: 62
0X aka Radial Lace
32 Spokes
and got a spoke length of 259.8.

Well I was able to measure everything. My number came out really close to Planyourfate got. I might have a wrong measurement somewhere.

ERD: 582
Center to Flange Distance: 32.5
Effective Flange Diameter: 62.06
0 Cross
32 Spokes
Spoke length of 260.8

UBI Spoke Length Calculator

Would you recommend the 259 or 260 or does it really matter being onle 1mm difference?

Also, what length nipples do you recommend for this application?

To be honest with Deep Vs it doesn't matter if they're a bit too long.

Thanks alot for all your help guys. Im lookin at the DT Swiss Champion's in 260mm. Gotta wait till the shop places a QBP order though, I dont want to pay shipping. Im cheap.
