Southeast - Louisville Riders/Groups

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Anyone here riding year round in Louisville? I rarely see anyone just riding for fun. Sure every once in awhile I see the lycra clad roadies on evening training rides but how about the ride-wha-cha-got types who ride in street clothes and do it just for the fun of it and exploring various parts of our great city?

I'm about 75-80 miles southeast of town, but I have ridden with the Louisville Bicycle Club a few times. I have mainly done their century rides and I do the roadie training stuff down home (I do race). If you go to louisvillebicycleclub.org you'll see the club's calender under touring ___ something or 'nother. They have different levels of mileage and speed (including ''slow and easy," etc), some of them may work for you. If you search my other posts, I wrote a lengthier list of other sites that may be of interest. Hope this is somehow helpful. Wish I didn't live in BFE, I'd be more involved in the good stuff going on in the 'Ville.

Thanks for the heads up, bassic wilson. I've tried connecting with the various groups of the Louisville Bicycle Club in the past but we just don't seem to be a good fit... different strokes and all.
