I know from talking to folks in the Mid-Atlantic, there are going to be a lot of this year's top finishers that will not be making the trip next year because of the travel constraints.

its 3hrs from pdx. means a lot of people are going to have to rent cars from the airport. Maybe USAC will have a subsidized shuttle service.
or its a 2400mile drive for me (each way). $384 in gas (assuming $2/gal) + oil change $30.
i think i'm out. should have gone this year in kc

Especially since there will be plenty of (middle-class, non-rich) folks on the east coast who will pony up the dough to make it to Bend next December.

which top finishers are already not planning on attending? I am going to try and make it as I am from Bend.
FYI - There IS an airport 15 mi. north of Bend. PDX to RDM; 40 minutes, several times per day.
I'm non-rich middle class, and I will be there. Wait, I AM there. Nats in my home town: Priceless!!!
