I'm about half way through Terry Goodkind's "Wizard's First Rule." What a great read! This is the first in a series. I look forward to the next book.

Just wondering if there are any other fantasy readers out there and what your reading?

(My favorite series of all time is Robert Doherty's "Area51" series.)

I read Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, and quite enjoy it, but the last couple of books have been real disappointments. Either he has no clue how he's going to end the series, or he is never going to end it. There's also the obligatory yearly reading of Tolkein.

I've only really discovered it relatively recently. If you can get hold of the Axis Trilogy, and it's sequel, The Wayfarer Redemption (Sara Douglass), they're definitely worth reading. David Eddings is pretty good, too.

Anything by Orson Scott Card. I especialy enjoyed both The Homecoming & The Alvin Maker anthologies, also Pastwatch: The Redemption of Christopher Columbus and Folk on the Fringe as single book stories. Tho' who can mention OSC without saying 'Ender Wiggins"?

I read a few of the early Wheel of Time books but got bored. I don't think it will end. Maybe others will like that; I didn't.

I'm a big fan of Terry Brooks' novels; especially the Shannara books. Although his Voyage of the Jerle Shannara was below par for him - IMHO.

Also enjoy Mercedes Lackey, David Eddings, Anne McCaffrey, and R. A. Salvatore to name a few.

I finished Moonlight and Vines (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0812565495/qid=1081866519/sr=1-9/ref=sr_1_9_xs_stripbooks_i9_xgl14/104-7861895-0407144?v=glance&s=books) a few months back. This is a collection of short stories.

I was really impressed with Charles de Lint (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/index=books&field-author=de%20Lint%2C%20Charles/104-7861895-0407144)

I have picked up Trader (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0312858477/qid=1081866699/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_3_xs_books_i3_xgl14/104-7861895-0407144?v=glance&s=books) but have not read it yet.

I'm reading Terry Pratchett's 'Night Watch' at the moment.

I finally got around to finishing the Lord of The Rings recently. Never again.

Hey Allister, I know what you mean. I read the Hobbit, then the Lord of The Rings last summer. Man, what a exhausting read! I love the story, but Tolkien really lets the story get lost in the minutiae of his writing style.

That one's actually next on my list. I'm currently reading "Wee Free Men".

There's a story?
