Ok, my rear disc brake (mechanical) is making this scraping noise, and its not because it's too tight. The rotor is scraping against the other side. Now, is there a way to adjust the other side? because the rotor has actually scraped about a 16th of an inch of metal off the caliper. Help?

Rotor is warped and needs straightening or replacement
Or
The inner half of the cliper needs adjustment.

You will need a longer 4 mm allen wrench to make the adjustment on the part facing the spokes, there is a allen bolt actuated knob that adjusts the inner pad. You will need to move the pad away from the rotor so you will need to loosen it some.

^ yes, i know. But it's not that pad that is the problem. It is the pad farther away from the spokes that needs adjusting. With the other pad, no matter how much i adjust it, it still doesent matter, because the rotor is scraping against the oppisite pad.
Did your brakes come with washers to help you properly space the brakes on the frame? Also, check your wheel alignment when you put your wheel on. I have Hopes and a crooked wheel will cause scraping.
Hope this helps...

Then you need to do the opposite.
