I left my house 15 minutes late today so I was about 5-10 minutes too late to catch the first of two bus routes for my commute (not that I wanted to take the bus (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=496740)). By the time I got to the station (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avondale_(MARTA_station)) where I catch my second bus, I was running only about 2-3 minutes late. The bus left the station and crossed over a bridge and I turned in just behind it. Then, when I got to the last stretch before I got to work, the same bus was following me up the road (that route only runs every 45 minutes).

What took me an hour and 15 minutes a few weeks ago when I wasn't feeling it only took 47 minutes today. Granted, part of that is due to lower amounts of traffic and a flatter-yet-longer route. But still, the Clyde wins. :D

Oh, and when I got off of the bike, I was in a fantastic mood. :thumb:

Average speed is up from around 9 mi/hr to about 11.6 mi/hr. And that with a bit of a headwind for a significant part of the ride.

Ah, bus races. When I was in Hawaii going to school we used to hang out at the main gate at Pearl Harbor and race The Bus down to Waikiki to Ala Moana Center. We won most of the time.

Of course, I only weighed about 160 back then and averaged around 250 miles a week......:o

I thought this was going to be a crash report. Now that would've been an impressive clyde win vs. bus. But congratulations on getting faster -- sure feels good!
