Didn't see this last week. It costs about 275 and is a single speed.

Nice! Are those 16 inch wheels, or smaller?

I know Bridgestone used to make great bicycles under Grant Peterson in the early 90s but didn't know they also make foldies. This is largely for their local Japanese markets I believe. The bike you saw looks very much like a 16" and I just bought a used Bridgestone foldie as well in Phnom Penh last week for US$45. Single speed too, and its probably at least 10 years old but in excellent shape.

Note the cool rear drum brake...

Don't think it could be 16" as it's roughly at the radius of the wheel next to it, which couldn't be more than 27".

I read the story on your BLOG about buying this bike on one of your trips. I think it was in Cambodia? Not sure.

Anyway, that SS 20" Bridgestone you purchased, is very similar in appearance to a Flying Pigeon M-3 folder I ordered the other day; except mine is a 6 speed with "V brakes", both front, and back. It should arrive here by December 30th.

My faithful 5 speed Qile Duo (http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/pp129/edwong3/QileDuo-1.jpg) folder has a band brake just like yours, except it has never worked well. I haven't been able to get it adjusted to where it won't drag on the drum when not applying the brake, and be able to engage with enough force when needed to. Anyway, I noticed that the housing, and the drum are not in alignment, and ordered a new band brake with a 90 mm drum. Should provide more stopping power.

The small Bridgestone in this thread really caught my eye because I think I'd like to add a 16 inch wheel or smaller folder to my collection. I'm thinking of "multi modal" transportation here:D Apparently, the Bridgestone is not available here in the US, though I could be wrong:innocent:

I'm looking at the Kent International Compact 16 (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10304012) because of it's small fold, light weight, equipment (rack, and fenders), and acceptable quality for the money:thumb:

Edward
