Man, I had the whole town to myself yesterday on Christmas Day. Some of the busiest roads in town were absolutely absent of any 4 wheeled vehicles. I got in a nice 16 mile ride (only had a few free minutes to ride) but I went up and down roads I have never been on. Yep, it was a cold windy day, but man was it fun. I crossed a 5 lane highway without even having to unclip from my pedals to slow down. I know these days are rare (Thanksgiving Day was like that) so I had to take advantage. Yeah, when I got back I ate another piece of coconut cream pie.:innocent:

Good for you. I haven't exercised in three days because of work and family. It is driving me nuts not being able to do something.

Same here almost, but sunny and 76 for the family ride. We rode 5 wide along the bluff over the Beaufort River into downtown, then looped Olde Pointe.

I noticed the same thing- I rode on Belt Line Road (which still had some traffic)- but normally would have avoided it. Plus, the weather was wonderful, shirt sleeve weather with little wind.

Christmas Day here was pretty wet but I got in nice, alothough short (15 miles each) rides on the mornings of Christmas Eve and today. Today tied a record for us. 34 degrees is as cold as it has ever been here on the day after Christmas (tied the record from the 1940's) and that was the temp when I left the house this morning for my ride. Had the roads to myself but there were a lot of surfers out (the waves were pretty big and the water temp was warmer than the air temp). Hopefully I'll get my wife to join me for a longer ride tomorrow to try out all the new cycling stuff she got for Christmas.

I haven't gotten a good ride in since last friday, I got a new saddle yesterday but was kinda feeling like crap. I took bike out went 5 miles and said thats it, when i got home i started to get a fever and aches. I guess my body was telling me something. I have off Monday and Tuesday and I'm gonna hit the road hard. As long as my body is up to it.
