Today I rode with VaultGuru. We started at his house and did a loop up through Loomis to Penryn, across to Auburn-Folsom, around Rattlesnake, and then back down to Folsom before returning to his place.
The weather was outstanding. Sunshine, about 50 degrees. Beautiful ride on rolling hills. Anyway, we had a good time. VaultGuru pushed me pretty hard. We finished the ride with an average speed of 15.8. This includes stretches of pacing at 23 (ok, I was drafting), and some climbing. Total elevation gained was 2313 according to my Garmin. Distance for the loop was 46.64 miles.
Towards the end we stopped off at Bikes Plus in Folsom so VG could pick up a part. But they were really busy! Selling lots of bikes, many high end. That's great news for the shop. I took the opportunity of the break to take a picture of him.

Then he shot one of me. It came out a bit blurry, go figure? So here's a picture of my new svelte 147 pound self. Note how much too big my jersey is. I need to buy new clothes.
