Hi dudes-

I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on some used shops in the los angeles area? I'm looking to build up a new track rig, for use on the track and on the street, and I'm tired of Ebay...anyone on here from LA or the general socal area? not looking for anything crazy, just a track frame and fork...but I do have a weakness for lugged steel....so that would be cool.

thanks!

I know two places in San Diego.. though it's a hike for you.

Penny farthings on C street has some track frames on occoasion (call)
But by far my favorite place is Pedal Pushers in El Cajon off Univ ~ they've got more misc frames than you can shake a stick out.. inexpensive, and plenty of parts around. Dave Jr rocks.

Hey Thanks William...so does Pedal Pushers usually have used track frames? if you think it's worthwile, I'd be willing to make the trek to SD...I like going down there and messing around anyway.

I'd also like to add, that it seems utterly ******** that LA doesn't have at least a few really good used shops...I moved here from the bay area and there were a lot of great shops up there...I miss those shops!

The fixer may know the used LA scene pretty well. Pedal Pushers hasn't had a track frame ever that I've seen. But, if I ask Dave JR, he might be able to come up with something. It's really dependent on what Dave SR picks up. You could just get a road frame and convert. Not as true as a track frame, but really, pretty close, esp if it's your first one and you're figuring if you're gonna like it or not. Kind of how I started.

I'm over here in OC.. and there no good shops to find used bikes... unless you count goodwill, or salvation army... which, occasionally you can get a good find... but it is rare

This sounds like a good opportunity for my business venture - bike shop/used bikes/pub. Grab a wrench and a beer on your way in the door there hey.
