Road Cycling - Commuters: ever had your cyclo computer stolen?

I so LOVE having a computer on the bike... but I hate having to remove it everytime I leave the bike. I commute to school, so I'm always moving the cyclo unit from the mount.

I wonder if people steal these things, though. I've been leaving my planet bike front&rear LED lights on and they haven't been stolen... im not sure if some jackasses like to rip computers off for fun, tho

yea I'd be worried about the dork that would do it for giggles. I dont have one on my commuter

I basically take everything removable off or lock it down. There's a guy that parks next to mine and leaves his rack trunk on it, lights, everything with only a thin cable lock.
I do what I do just in case. My commuter computer has an old specialized computer that doesn't have a latch, it just slides on and off and is pretty easy to remove.

I had one stolen off of my mountain bike. I ran in to get chinese food and came back out 10 minutes later. I didnt notice it was missing until the next morning, but I know it was on when I went in. I had a habit of removing it, but this time I forgot and it disappeared...

Damn it is nice to have a bike locker...

Take anything that can be quickly removed like the computer, a light, the pump etc, or it will be gone.

I carry a plastic grocery bag in my under saddle wedge bag. I use this to carry all the removable things - blinkie, water bottle, computer, EL300 light, pump, gloves, under saddle wedge bag.
