We intended to head up to the Bike Path in Corinth this morning to go with them on their ride, but didn't get up early enough (6:30 rise and shine; 8am depart store :twitchy: ) so we struck out on our own.

Leaving from Grapevine (Meadowmere Park-ish) Dove Loop to Main Street, in the Airport to Freeport Drive, across 635 to Southwestern Blvd. From Southwestern Blvd it's a straight shot over to the bike store at Beltline and McArthur where we stopped to order wheels for our new tandem. Then back onto Beltline to Luna, over to Royal where we stopped for lunch at La Madeline (what an evil restaraunt). From Royal we took the long way home by jumping over to Regent before going back to Freeport to get on Airfield drive to head back home.

35 miles round trip. Not exactly a "scenic" trip (thus no pix) being mostly warehouse districts, but almost always on a big road of 2 or 3 lanes all to ourselves.

And we saw more cyclists out today than we have in a while. :thumb:

I tested the "friendliness" factor today. I waved at everyone unless I was struggling up hills, in which case I nodded, and in every case I got the same response back. :) This leads me to wonder if people complaining about unfriendly cyclists are unfriendly themselves?

We really enjoyed this ride today. However, I really don't challenge the hubby at all. I'm always at "full throttle" and he's usually just cruising. And he works evenings, so can't go to the rides at the LBSs.

Is there anyone in the area who would be interested in riding with him during the week mid-morning?
