Advocacy & Safety - Neon Orange Hi-Viz CamelBak Hydration Pack

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
*Disclaimer: I do not work for CamelBak and/or LSS.
Anyway, I was looking at my lss safety supply catalog and it turns out these dudes make a hi-viz orange or lime green hydration pack for use by public servants such as traffic cops. No need for high viz clothing and then wearing a dull camelbak over it.

That is nice to know, not very fancy, just a bladder, but easy to see.

Oh yeah I forgot to include the link, thanks Patch!

No problem.
It would be nice to see LBS and outdoor shops carry these. Perhaps CamelBak will add a pocket to hold a few items without going overboard. They would be great for times when you are near or in traffic.

I just put my Hi-viz vest on over the Camelbak.
I wish I could get a backpack in bright safety orange and/or green. I am now considering a camelback because the Capo lacks water bottle cage bosses, and I do not want to mess up its beautiful new paint job. I agree that the pockets are a great idea.

Funny, the Camelback Skeeter comes in a hi-viz orange. The Skeeter is the samll, 35 oz children's model.
From their site, they're no longer in orange. And the old "krush orange" color isn't hi-viz orange, it's just plain orange. Hi-viz orange is a dye that's specially formulated to be blindingly bright.
There's a guy who parks near where I work and I can see his bike parked at a meter from nearly 1/4th a mile away in a crowded street from this small 4"x4" hi-viz orange flag on the back of it.

I own the Hi-Viz orange camel back. My last command, CMSAPAC Hawaii, would run the Halawa Hill 3+ miles round trip, and we needed a reflective belt, or vest, and the Navy Exchange had these on sale and now I wear it when I would commute there, and now I will be showing my colors in San Dog, as soon as I can find a safe route to base.
Thanks for the info on the hi-viz Camelback.
When I bought mine the shop just had the boring, dull colors to select from :crash: and I ended up buying this.
