I finally hit the point where neither my legs nor my cardiovascular system are holding me back. I am climbing faster than ever, my heart rate while riding is getting lower (both max and average) and my legs feel great. However, my wife forces me to come home long before my heart is hitting it's maximum BPM. Is this how most racers are?

Just get the divorce - with this kind of attitude, combined with your eagerness to post it on the internet, you're headed there anyways.

The only question is, who are you a sockpuppet of?

The mods are slipping if they let someone create a user account "killamoderator" and a user title "Cat 1 Sock Puppet"...

You need to remember the Lessons Of Lance. Your wife and your second testicle are holding you back. Do as Lance did and dump them both.

Waiting for pics. She must be super hot to have that kind of influence.

My wife sometimes holds me back on Saturday mornings. Wait. That doesn't happen any more. :( The kid holds me back.

Make it like TT rules. Either she holds everyone back or no one.

Do you think he wants to kill moderators or he is the one who does the killing?

Man, that's tough.

My wife actively supports my riding, including schwag purchases and going off on bike trips with my old college buddies.

Sucks to be you.

My experience with women has been that they will try to pull you off track with your avocation, but, in the end, if they succeed, won't respect you. It's important to set your boundaries right from the start and let her know exactly how it is going to go down once March/April starts. My policy was once I was off the bike, I paid all my effort and energy into the relationship. It seemed to work for me...seemed to...
