I think I agree with Lars Boom's comments about this who incident. I think the UCI should be asking the chaperone why they didn't find Page as it seems he stuck around the race even though he abandoned.
It'd be a bummer if he gets suspended because he's already said he would retire.

Mixed feelings really. I feel for the guy, but rules are rules.

It doesn't seem to me that any one hanging around till the end of the race is trying to hide something.

If he gets suspended for two years, he's done. He'll be too old to race competitively (especially after a 2 year lay off) Its really unfortunate that everything failed on him that day. I read his wife's post on his website and I believe them. I hope USADA and USAC believes him and gives him a slap on the wrist and does not suspend him.

I started my cross season this year with a broken rib. It sucked but after two months it's cleared up quite well.

Page doesn't exactly have 2 months for it to clear up if he wants to head into Worlds with any kind of form (assuming he's named to the US team and allowed to compete).

I would say his chances of being named to the worlds team at this point have to be slim.

More on the selection of the elite men's team for worlds.
Matt Shriver was notified today that he would be racing, and it looks like Jeremy Powers will also be joining Trebon. Page will be likely get an invite, but he could be prohibited from riding if the USADA (i believe) rules in favor of sanctions.

When he found out he missed the test he went and had blood taken by a doctor so that he could have it tested. Doesn't sound like a guy who missed intentionally. Give him a suspension that fits the crime. 2 months for missing the test (when his chaperone missed him) sounds about right.

looks like good news for page. kind of a dopey reasoning, but i can see that being their strongest argument. i don't think he was trying to miss the test, so if the right result happens for the wrong reason, i am okay. UCI can still appeal. US left one open spot on the world's list... wonder if he is going to take it?

He tested later that day right?
If so BS..let him ride....lets use some common sense in the rules.

He's been cleared already.
No word on whether he's made the US Worlds team though.
