So I'm flipping through the channels this afternoon (I work overnights) and my annoyance at the fact that my cable company won't trade out their crappy outdoor channel (showing nothing but locally-produced, public-acess-quality hunting and fishing shows) for OLN is pegged out when I stop on ESPN2 to watch the women's 9-ball billiards championship. This didn't annoy me too much, as I enjoy a nice game of pool as much as the next man and one of the ladies was quite easy on the eyes. What really annoyed me was when I reached the end of the show and the announcer said "Your 1999 women's champion..."

WHAT?!! They're re-playing something that happened FIVE YEARS AGO rather than show half an hour of coverage on a MAJOR sporting event that happened just this passed weekend? I highly doubt that women's billiards has THAT much larger of an audience than professional bicycle racing. :crash:

Kill your TV.

I feel your pain. To be honest, I can't remember the last time I watched anything on ESPN2 since I got bored watching the same ping pong tournament several times.

Same here. I finally broke down and got the fully expanded, deluxe package from my cable provider. I was just sick of the billiards matches, old basketball games and old NASCAR. What a waste of channel space.

You know there are children in Ethiopia who can't get any cable access at all, right?

Here in the GWN, we get the TdF, and an hour of the Giro each night in Italian. You do what you have to do, mate. I met a guy called Brutus, in the middle of nowhere, just to make the connection. No way I was going to miss a day of the Classics this year.

I'm more than thrilled that the hotel I always stay at when I go to the Bay Area (once a week) now carries OLN in their cable lineup.
