Recumbent - Couldn't Be Happier!!!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
My HP Velotechnik Streetmachine is 1 week old. I have spent as much time riding it as is humanly possible since I picked it up.
I am absolutely hooked!!! What a fantastic way to travel!!! Unbelievably comfortable and, so far, there is nothing on any of the trails or roads that I routinely ride a DF on that I can't navigate quite happily on the bent.
My DF commuter bike is going on Craigslist tomorrow which says it all.
Just wanted to say a big thank you to those folks who responded to my questions before I bit the bullet and bought it.
Ride on!
That is great news. Enjoy the ride, I am glad you love your new bike.

I googled your bike to see what it looks like. That's a very nice looking machine. Looks very comfortable too. How many speeds does it have?

It is good to hear of someone who is happy with his new purchase/experience. If only more people could overcome their prejudices against 'bents and try them, there would be lots of reactions like scouser's.

I remember that first day I rented a trike, 20yrs since I last rode(Carple Tunnel at 1st). I experianced a freedom I'd forgotten, that was the Catrike Road. Later I rode the Velotechnic Scopian, but bought a tour ready trike that I have toured on for the last 2yrs only. Rotator comfort 3 ...

I must admit it does draw lots of attention. No point in being shy though eh? Just came back from a 25 mile spin. No neck pain, no wrist pain, no ### pain....just a wide grin and sore quads!:thumb:

thanks! It is a stock 2008 with 24 speeds. In hindsight I might have gone for disc brakes but it's not too big a deal. The nearest recumbent stockist is 3 hours away and I wanted to buy a bike that I'd test ridden. He only had two in stock and both were identical. I must admit to sticker shock when I was researching these but I have no complaints. Now I am planning some decent length tours for the spring and summer.
All I gotta say is ...continue to enjoy...and spread the word.

Did you get the suspended fork? I'd love a review, if you did. I've been eyeing that fork for a while, because it is the only aftermarket fork I can find for a recumbent, besides White Bros. which are way out of my price range.
