Hello,
I just bought a NOS 2006 Santana Team Scandium tandem. (A late Santa gift:D) The question is what would be the best for a drag brake set up: the Arai drum brake or Santana’s Winzip 10” disc brake? The disk brake would definitely be better looking and lighter weight, but I hear there have been warping issues in the past.

I have the touring 40 spoke Handley hubs with W 400 FiR rims set, not the Sweet 16 wheel set that was suppose to come with it.

Thanks,
o^^o

Arai Drum = Drag brake that supplements rear rim brake: Heavy-duty / very high heat capacity for heavy teams, teams that will be doing loaded touring, or teams that just want to apply constant braking on descents to limit max speed.

Winzip Disc = Primary rear brake that replaces rear rim brake: Medium-duty / moderate heat capacity for teams that want something with more heat capacity than rim brakes but who don't really need a drum brake.
