I'm looking to get a tire to use on my new rear wheel, which I built myself, for two weeks or so until my Schwalbes arrive from Germany. I can't use what the bicycle is rolling on now since I went with some heavy duty rims and my current tires are 23c's.
In a nutshell, I'm looking for some 28 or 32c tires to roll around on for a few weeks, but won't kill me. Ideally I'd be able to pick up a decent make which has been well used, but still has a sliver of life in it for a few bucks. The cheapest alternative I've found so far is some Vittoria Zaffiros for $20, which is more than I'd like to spend on this.
Any of you NYC folks know where I can head for a good bargain bin? Sid's on 34th street always has some good bins out but I did not find anything there yesterday (except a nice balaclava for $1!)
