Pacific Northwest - Interesting article in "Oregon Business."

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Elkhound, I also posted this last weekend in a new thread but there has not been much of a response to date.

ScreenWasher, I read this yesterday after following a link (not sure which thread it was in).

The article is quite interesting. It is a shame there is not an Oregon / Washington based 'large scale' manufacturer of bikes. I am keen to learn TIG or MIG welding, whichever is best suited to Aluminum and then have a go at making utility trailers. I think there could be sufficient demand in the Pacific Northwest to make it a viable concern.

Thanks for posting this. I just noticed in the new Cascade club newsletter that several Oregon bike builders will be showing their bikes at the Seattle Bike Expo this year (early March).
