Triathlon - Pedals

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
What pedals do you use for triathlons. Are there any pedals you have used that didn't work?

I only have one set of pedals, so I will only have one choice to use. This might be a good thread to watch.

I use MTB pedals & shoes (specifically Shimano). I find it much easier to run my bike in them. I'm not brave enough to clip my shoes to my pedals before I start....
I just bought some Speedplay Zeros yesterday. I was worried that they would not work with the triathlon. I'm not skillful enough to leave my shoes clipped into my bike (I also wear socks).

Speedplay are on my road bike and my Tri bike. I have Shimano MTB's on my commuters.
I've always used Look pedals which offer a large platform underfoot.
I always keep my shoes on the bike so no concerns with running in the cleats...

In all my races to date (olympic and shorter) I've used MTB pedals and shoes so I can run through transition and do the flying mount and dismount.
I'll be doing my first half and full iron distance races this year. For those I'll be using road pedals and shoes because the extra few seconds in transition won't matter as much.

I use Looks and have no real problems in transitions. I've ditched the socks and am glad! I haven't run a 1/2 IM sockless, but I run 10K's regularly now sockless.
Off topic, but has Leach ever heard of DEFENSE? You guys whipped us andI was hoping you'd get the Cotton.

I'm not sure about defense, but I think next year the QB sneak on 4th down with 4 to go is going to be very popular. Anyway, an 11 and 2 season is not bad, just a disappointing ending.

I use Look Keo's. The Keo cleats have rubber on the bottom, so I still have decent traction jogging to the mount/dismount line. No problems, and they are the same cleats and pedals I use in my training, so I am used to them.

I've done afew races with Crankbrother Candy pedals and MTB shoes. It was nice to pass people while running in and out of the transition area. :D

I use MTB pedals & shoes Me too. I use Crank Brother's Eggbeaters because they are super easy to use. My knees like the float too. I am looking at the speedplay zeros though.
