I'm renting a house in the Castro this week and my party wants to rent bikes... I know I'm gonna be miserable on one of those treks with the shock on the seatpost, does anyone know if shops rent fixed gear bikes? I tried calling both Freewheel locations to no avail, but it's still relatively early... Any advice?

noone in SF rents fixed gears, for liability reasons. Many shops do have road bikes they will rent out though, try pacific bikes on 4th and folsom, there are giant ocr and tcrs availible. The OCR's are 40/day, 50 for 2 days, and I think 100 for a week. Alu frame, carbon fork, shimano 105.
