A few years ago, I in-line skated through the streets of NYC, from lower manhattan to central park. It never really occured to me that what i was doin was anything dangerous or hardcore until I started looking at oldskooltrack.com, where they ride brakeless through Manhattan. My skates, just like the bikes they use, have no brakes! This was especially fun in central park on the hills and dips, but it was also very much fun through the madness of times square traffic, where i performed many of the same manuvers that the oldskooltrack guys do, like shooting gaps, dodging traffic, and not slowing down for much of anything. I wasn't sure weather or not to put this in the foo, or the SS and Fixed gear site, so i chose here. The point, i guess, would be that having seen what it takes to navigate manhattan with no brakes, these guys are amazingly skilled. I admire anyone able to navigate a brakeless bike through manhattan. :D
