photography, travel, revolutionary politics [anarcho communism, feminism, anti-capitalism], progressive house and breakbeats at clubs. all sorts of pretty music at home.
i used to sew my own jeans and clothing and stuff, but since i got to uni, i haven't been able to afford the raw materials. or any new clothes at all. meanwhile: politicised stencil grafitti. and i just started making my own silk screens. i rock.

i listen to .midi files of metallica (http://www.geocities.com/BourbonStreet/7874/ftb.mid).
don't look for work.
play guitar.

this sucks ass. What the hell happened to you OTS?
But, if it was "punching my kittywugglekins" I would still be scared, but for other reasons.
My Hobbies:
talking
and, um...****
I only like bikes!
And I read too. Is that a hobby? Or "becoming inebriated"...is that a good hobby?
Being angry that all the bands I used to listen to are pretyy much gone. So I listen to them on various media.
Uh...pretending I am somebody. Is that good?
And...soup. I like various soups, canned and powdered.
Ah, and looking at stuff. Can't get enough of that.

I just got scared. Doesn't any one have the problems someone like me has: a job, two kids (one in college), and not enough time for anything! including enough biking. I have a road bike, a mountain bike and now a SS. All (almost) I want to do (and have time for is to bike. Maybe run if it's raining and windy. And read. Yeah, that's it. All I have time for is biking, and running, and reading, and working. And reading these forums.
Funny aside: I sit down to read these forums tonight and I open a bottle of red to go with the dinner and it is the same $2 buck chuck Charles Shaw Merlot that WK was drinking just yesterday! How does that happen? Oh yeah, add drinking cheap, but good red wine to that list up there. And pass the aspirin.

reading: lots and lots of books in the house (over 4000 at last count...my wife's a librarian, so we keep track of such things).
cinema AND film (sorta like country AND western, you might say). also, movies. combined, about a half-dozen per week.
photography: mostly nature, landscapes, and macro. being doing a lot of macro-landscapes. still shoot mostly slide film, but i've recently flirted with the dark side by purchasing a digital p/s.
landscaping: my wife takes care of the plants (except the house plants, those are mine) while i contour the land and scatter it with rocks and stones.
not driving.
paddling. mostly canoes, mostly flatwater and downriver to class III. this is the first year in the last 15 that i'm not going to the BWCAW.

damn, I thought this was going to be a good political thread. I was getting excited to see three refrences to anti-capitalism in the first four posts, even one about feminism. But then it quickly degenerated into the standard thread about cheep beer with the occational derogatory comment about womyn.
oh, add drinking cider to my list.

uh-oh. A 200 year old culture, so rife with the evils of capitalism, one that's taking over the entire world, is going to die. Sounds very chicken little to me. America may not have the best culture, and i don't always agree with pushing it on the rest of the world, but we're a young country, still adolescent and wet behind the ears. Give us time, we'll get better, or we'll get taken over by the nebulons, and nobody likes their style. Just ask the cheat.

thats better.
I think its funny that simply the mention of alternative sociological views (i.e. feminism) causes some people to become so insulted that they feel that it is mandatory that they further entrench themselves blindly into their current ideology (i.e. patriarchy)
And I did purchase my bike (it was a personal transaction which did not bring corporations or stores into the matter), but I make my own cider.

Are you the one who leaves love notes on my Jeep for me?
'Cause it is getting a little 'bit funky now.
What do I like:
Being a dad. My kid, she rocks. Building her a mixtie road bike right now.
Being a husband. My wife, pretty tolerant, loving..
Travel (the journey, not the destination) in many forms.
Philosophy (only to understand perception, not to discover my self or that)
Music (still love techno, but I hate Oakenfield)
Wine (but I don't spend over 10 dollars a bottle)
Confrontation (you got an issue with that?)
Learning to balance the inconsistencies in my life
hate porn, but like to look at beautiful women;
hate the car culture, dig my jeep with big tires, lockers, etc; hate racism, but find my self labeling very often;
hate big cooperation's, but love how companies find a way to get stuff done cheaply and efficiently;
don't like people, but love interacting with them and learning about their lives;
enjoy being in the Navy, don't care for the image people have of military personnel;
believe in free speech, some people should shut the **** up;
you get the picture.
aww, WK, that was beautiful!
(I edited your cooperation/corporation on the quote below. -- And I do tend to leave jeeps alone, unless they are super mega huge and in my artsy fartsy side of town. :))

in order to further entrench myself... You can make your own cider (and i'll redact the cider comments from above) but you can't make your own bike. Sure you bought it through a personal transaction, but did that person make it? Did they hand-craft the parts? Where did they get the steel (al, carbon, ti, etc.) for the frame? And so on and so forth.
I like the ability to go down the street to the LBS, and exchange earned money (or in my case, borrowed) for readily available goods and services. But go on wit yo bad self, raging against "the man." I can't help it i was born white middle class, the root of all the worlds evil.

Any recommendations for a good merlot or cabernet?
The australians seem to be making some good stuff lately. Blass..
BV makes some really good cabernet, just make sure it's coastal, and not central valley.
I've found some Raven's wood on sale at Trader Joe's that wasn't bad.
Most anything from 97-99 was pretty good. The 2000's and up I've had I don't care for.
If you can find it, 1998/1999 Amarone is really good. Open in and let it sit for a month.
On the subject of mellowish reds:
Because of poor US relations with the French, Borduex (sp) prices have dipped, so I've been getting a lot of that lately.
Also been digging Pinot Noirs from Alexander Valley area.

I don't consider it a privilege to be born middle white class. In fact, I consider it something I have to constantly shed to make sure I stay in touch with the reality of the world around me. And I consider it a curse because people automatically judge me. The rich consider me trash, the poor consider me rich. Both consider me someone who doesn't belong there.. and well, as for the other middle class.. I don't like people really anyway. :D

I'm going there in a few months. Valparizo or something.
But the last time I hade Chilean wine, it was, well, pretty bad. And this comes from a guy who drank night train and thunderbird once or twice. I'll have to try it again.
I don't mind a sweet red. In fact, I love Port wines, but... you gotta watch them, they sneak up on you.
