Mountain Biking - Finally! My Bike is Done

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

After almost 3 months of accumulating parts, I have finally finished building my ride. The cost was around 800 CAD and well worth my time. I was able to gain valuable knowledge from building it up myself and had a hell of a time!
Specs are as follows:
Frame: 2001 Devinic Chili Pepper 17"
Fork: 2003 MX comp/eta
Drivetrain: XT crankset, Deore R/d, LX F/d, Deore Shifters and SRAM PC 59 chain
Wheelset: Sun CR18 laced to Deore Disc Hubs
Cock Pit: Raceface Alloy air riser, Kore forged Stem and Odi Yeti Hardcore grips
Brakes: XT Vee brakes, Avid SD3
Weighs in at around 28 pounds when I have my XC tires on but a little over 30 when i have my 2.35 kenda kinetics. I can finally ride!!!!!

Most definetly. Almost everything on this bike was 50% off the retail.
This was a great experience and I had soo much fun!

yup, first bike. Only brough it to the LBS to have the BB installed since i didn't have the tools for it. You can definetly build one yourself. When i ran into trouble I would always look into my Bike Mech Book (Zinn and the Art of Mountain Bike repair) and use these forums.

Money who needs money? That's what these little plastic things in my wallet are for!
Now, if I could just stop getting harrassed by the bill collector! j/k.
