So try and make sense of this sponsorship crud for me?

Read from the first email at the bottom.

TIA,
Brendon

Hi Brendon

Sponsorship is only if you are sponsored by the company. There is nothing to
stop you wearing Orca gear to any race apart from Auckland champs and the
Nationals.
I am not certain about the distance for the champs but think it is 40k you
can check with me on Saturday and I will have confirmation of that
Cheers Karen

Hi ,

So in effect, If I wear say Orca clothing even though I have bought it
myself, I just write it on the form? ORCA? I am able to get a good price for
this brand so I may just get some for racing at least.

I am looking on the website at the results for the U19 TT last year, and I
am guessing that it was 20km? Why the change? I will try and get to the
racing on Saturday at Ardmore and enter a race.

Regards,
Brendon

I think what she is trying to say is that if you are wearing clothing with a manufacturer's logo on the outside and are receiving money for that, then that is a sopnsorship. If you are wearing a blank jersey with maybe a small logo on the front but are not getting paid to do so (nobody can really see it) than that would fall outside...as I recall, in the US there are giudelines on the allowable size of a logo...but most of our amateur teams ride with logos plastered all over their jerseys to ad sponsors that give them money.
