Fifty Plus (50+) - What's your New Year's Resolution?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I either got lazy or changed tactics in '08. I enjoy stats but after 6-7 years of jotting down stats after each ride I just did not do it in 2008. When I needed to train for an event I just rode more and didn't look back. Since '08 is now gone I'd like to know a few stats like miles ridden, feet climbed, number of centuries and metrics.
I have all the data but it's all in 2 different electronic files. It's going to be very painful to get it accumulated the way I'd like it. It is going to take more work than I anticipated. I resolve to not wait a year in 2009 to do this!!! Or maybe just do fewer rides so it's just less numbers to deal with!!

Not to make any resolutions. Then I don't have to break them.

You read me like a book.
I resolve to get a job, preferably one that pays a bit less and takes a bit less of my time.
(For those who don't know, my employer of the past 6.5 years abruptly ceased operations this week.)

Very simple, some how come up with the FUNDS for a LBS MTB:thumb: I'm not into exersize for it's sake, it's great that it seems to come along with riding a bicycle as a side bennie but I RIDE because it's FUN and it helps my "mental state". After riding motorcycles (touring or sport) for 30 years, financies FORCED me out of being able to afford motorcycle ownership:( That got me to remember how much I enjoyed bicycling back in the early 80's so I've worked my way back to "2 wheels", just minus the motor, LOL:roflmao2:
My POS DSB MTB, has awakened a old flame, I NEED to be mobile, I tried hiking, it seems like it takes "forever" to get anywhere and although I truely enjoy playing "DISC GOLF" http://bj-joondo.tripod.com/discgolf.htm I still felt like something was missing! Yep, I NEED to move, make tracks, get miles, LOL, whatever you call it, I need motion or I feel "stuck" to the ground. So the thing that will improve me riding 100% is just get a better bicycle, hopefully by late Spring, then just RIDE!

Losing 50 pounds is a result.
I prefer resolutions that are actions. My resolution for this year is to stick with my gym program. I've already got 3 pretty good months behind me so it's looking pretty good.

To train for a "sprint triathlon" in September, and to actually compete in that triathlon. I have been training for several months now, and will keep it up.

I'll make the same resolution I make every year: I resolve to go fishing more.
To not say anything bad about anyone.

eat less
move more
shave more often
take a break from getting any new tattoos
To not say anything bad about anyone.
That's a good one. I trained myself to do that about 20 years ago while working with someone who seemed unable to stop talking bad about everyone. I said to myself "I don't want to be anything like that..." so I resolved to stop. It's a lot like junk food... in fact, it's social junk food -- it feels good for the moment but benefits no one.
My resolution.... get stronger and healthier in mind, body and spirit.

I've only got one.
Richard Parker,a retired Navy Doc.,is the fastest guy in the club I belong to.
I'm 66 and I know Richard is older by a year or more.
I want to be able to hang with Parker for five minutes top speed.
(fwiw. I was doing 28.49mph at the end of last season and he dropped me)
