Of course I had to pull her away from church to do it, and it was the slowest ride I ever done, and almost went into an unrecoverable stall a few times, but she did it and she had a blast. I took my Centurian and she rode her Ross womans bike and we rode the local MUP which was ten miles out and back. It was the longest ride she'd ever been on and she loved it. There at the halfway point we stopped and took a break, enjoying the Florida folige (and a little bit of necking on the park bench like we did back in the 70's. :D)

The entire ride we had a great time together and it gave her a good workout too. She's already lost 45 lbs, mainly from walking and cross country hiking, but the cycling was fun and different for her (at this distance) and it was great. I figger we'll do this a few times, then I'll spring a 20 on her. :D

The 19th of this month we will be together 32 years and she's the only duck in my pond. :thumb:

Oh yeah, forgot the stats: 1:14:35 RT / 7.8 mph avg. / 19.4 max

Far out! keep keeping it fun for her! (a little break during a ride never hurt anyone!)

What a great story! Once your Wife gets comfortable she will really appreciate the ground you can cover and the sites you can see riding versus hiking or running and she'll get stronger.

Good for her! And you.

My wife got home from the gym jsut before I was about to take a ride. She decided she wanted to go along. Cool. We did a nice and easy 4.3 miles around the 'hood. She was plumb give out! Going to the gym and then doing a ride will do that.

We took a break during the ride too. In front of someone's home. No necking involved. :(

That's way cool.

What size Ironman do we need to be keeping an eye out for? Might as well get a jump on the upgrade requirement:thumb:
