Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - Miyata NineTwelve

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have come across a Miyata NineTwelve and know absolutely nothing about racing bikes. I would like to have any and all information that you have. It has a Schwinn 600 on it, and says: Spline Triple Butted Chrome Molybdenum under the seat bar. On the bottom of the crank it has: 58 PS56822. I would like to know if this bike is worth anything these days. From reading some of the forums on the NineTwelve, I think it may be around a 1988, not sure. :) How much was it when it came out?

912's are highly thought of around this forum. They were in the upper end of the Racing/Competition series.

912's are very nice bikes. I havent looked to see if the bike inquestion has an internaly routed rear brake cable but if it does be sure to inspect the openings for small cracks.
