After miles upon miles of storms and frozen snot on my face, summer is approaching in the south of sweden :o !
Temperatures are rising slowly day by day and yesterday I rode home in a t-shirt!
Donīt really know the point of this post.
Just wanted to share my joy with someone that knows what Iīm talking about, as all my friends are trusty bus commuters..

The sun is shining, Iīm a rainbow too...

Yeah man, this tuesday in Boone there was snow on the ground. And thursday it was a high of 65F. That's living in the mountains for you. I ride in the cold as well, which is still enjoyable. But it's just nice to get out there in shorts and a T-shirt on a nice sunny day. Take it easy. Peace.

Well, it's approaching what passes for "winter" out here. I'm still in short sleeves, and probably will be until I visit Victoria later in the year. Still, at least I can ride a 30 minute commute at 7am without having to worry about death from heat exhaustion.

Winter cycling has itīs place in my heart too, but thereīs something special about rolling home in shorts and t-shirt while singing all the Marley classics! :o
You can imagine the looks i get.
Actually people smile at me now, something about the sun and itīs "defrosting" effects on people.

Jah Mon! Even in de Minnesota, we be feelin' it too. Jes' a leetle Rahsta wid de Sout trade winds, ya no mon, Oh nutin' on dis rock be feelin' more excitin' than de wind wippin' de sweat o' you brow, en not freezin' it.
But, you know by June, I'm going to be grippin' that it's too hot, the sink bath at work just isn't working, Bring on the cold I'm ready for the deep freeze.
I was riding with a guy yesterday on the way to work and said it was "hot out today." He shot me a look like I was crazy. "I rode all winter." His expression changed, and he grinned. He had to think I was crazy or something to think 68 degrees was hot.

Aahh, but see I think thatīs the beauty of it!
You see my theory is. If your toes are never frozen, they canīt be defrosted!

Well to be honest thatīs my momīs theory..
She has a car... And uses it....
I would prefer a tropical island :D

Got this crazy thought that perhaps us humans are never really satisfied if weīre not allowed to be unsatisfied...
Speaking for myself, not pointing fingers...

I think you're right. Somehow I think I'd probably be complaining about a Swedish winter at about the same time you'd be complaining about a Queensland summer -- and I think both would happen within a week of changing places.

Yep, youīre probably right..
Youīre from Queensland?
Iīve actually been there once.
At a little town called "Townsville", still canīt get over that name..
Sounds like something from an old western flick.
If Iīm not mistaken Queensland has a tropical climat?
With rainperiods and dryperiods?
I think thatīs what some of the locals said anyway.

All week in NW ohio has been awesome weather! I was so sick of slogging through day after day of rain, cold, wind, etc. and now it has been high 70's and sunny!! I love it!!

Never been to Townsville myself, I live on the Gold Coast and have been here almost 10 years, but I'm not admitting I'm "from" here. :D The climate in the northern parts of the state are tropical with a wet season (when the rest of the country is getting summer), and a dry season (when the rest of the country is getting winter) and bloody hot all the time.

It's not quite so bad down this end of the state, but bad enough that it's possible to go several months without a decent night's sleep during the warmer months. Of course, we've just come off our worst drought ever, which basically meant three years of "dry season", until it broke spectacularly earlier this year. Put it this way, temperatures around here are generally such that riding in the rain is the preferred time to ride.

Yep, it's nice to not have frozen toes, I'm really ready for this. Of course I could handle 75-85F/23-30C year around. :o

I don't ride in the winter, but my morning rides have hoovered around the 30-40degF mark for the last two months. This morning was 60degF and felt wonderful! It would have been perfect save for a 25MPH wind out of the South ... you can't have it all I guess.
