Touring - Some snaps from a central CA adventure...

Just a short tour..nothing epic, but thought you guys would dig the pics. I'm a photographer and I try to tour whenever I have some free time (my new year's resolution is to do a mini one once a month in 2009).

In this trip, my gf and I rode north from SB to SLO, via some smaller secondary roads.

ah great photo's really enjoyed them,tell me this i have the same set up as yourself ,as in rear ortlieb bike packer plus panniers and carradice camper s/bag. ultimate barbag.what way do you find is best to pack your panniers ,(what goes where) have you a packing list.also does the bike handle the load ok.thanks again .

-clothes, 3 wool shirts, 3 biking shorts, wool tights, patagonia fleece, toiletries, wool sweater, socks, waterproof socks

-down sleeping bag in compression sack, REI sleeping pad, down jacket compressed

Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed the slide show very much. Would it be possible for you to share your route? I live near Morro Bay and this would be an easy ride for me to get to. It looks beautiful! Did you camp? I assume you did, or you wouldn't have been carrying all that stuff. Where did you camp? Any information you could share would be appreciated.

very nice images - i like your composition and focal length choices. Really enjoyable to look through the whole set.

As a trucker, running fresh produce from the apple country in Washington State to California every week, I enjoyed going into the back country down there to pick up the back haul of lemons, oranges, and just about every other growing thing there is. California is a visually stunning geographical area, with many different looks for the tourer. Some of it reminds me of Tuscany.

Not to hijack the thread but how do you like the g10 for touring? im much of a novice photographer (took a couple of college courses) but am looking for a quality digital camera for touring/general photo taking. I have some film SLRs and as much as I would like a digi SLR, I'm not sure I want to deal with the bulk of lenses while touring. on the surface the G10 seems like a good compromise but I wanted a photographer/tourer's opinion..thanks!
