Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Mario Cipollini has just signed on to race (well, to at least start) the Tour de Georgia. This will be his first race in the US. A major coup for the event which will also have Bobby Julich back racing in the US for the first time since 1996.

Julich is a good pick to win this.

Wow.

Personally, I am going to write another letter to OLN complaining about the limited coverage of this and other bike races, other than the Giro di Italia, Tour d'France, and Vuelta a Espana. I would have liked to see a little more of the Paris Roubaix, Tour of Flanders, and a few others.

Wrote one last year and got a nice letter in reply which said, basically, more sponsors were needed.

I'll be riding with a friend or two Tuesday on some of the climbs around Pine Mtn. Then, on Wednesday I'll be there to watch the racers zip up these same hills with grace and ease.

On Saturday, check out the stage finish on the top of Brasstown Bald! It's been rated by the UCI as Hors Category! I predict Lance will hammer on this one! I hope to be in the throng somewhere.

Ya'll come!

I saw the date... maybe I can make it for the races on the 23rd and 24th. I can pack up my folding bike and bring it with and do some of the riding. I'm not a strong hill rider, but I think it would be fun to ride the route for a bit. I'm just checking up on airline prices and hotels tonight. Wow... can't believe I'm actually travelling to another state... for fun! That's not my scene, usually. ;)

Ummm... stuck a little. Anyone know which major airport would be closest to this? No turboprop tiny airports... I can't take those planes.

Ok, I thought about it. Since I've got my trip to the Giro in May, I decided against going out for the Tour de Georgia. If it was a cheaper flight, I wouldn't even think twice. So maybe next year.... until then, I've got the Giro. That's good stuff too! :)

Don't envy me... it's because I don't have crying babies that I'm able to even consider something like this! ;) :D

Thats why I had kids early... so when I'm 45 and they are both in college (assuming they get scholorships ;)) I can finally see the tour in person :)

I feel you. In my case, I've been travelling constantly like this even when I was younger... so never a time to even think about birthin' no babies! :D ;)
