I am picking up a 50th Anniversary Campagnolo Group, not pristine in a case for looking at, but in very very good shape for mounting on a bike and riding and enjoying. I was wondering if anyone knows how many of these groups Campagnolo made and released for sale? Thanks for the information.

Campagnolo stated at the time, 15,000 kits made.
Various configurations, English, Italian, 36 32 hole hubs, braze on or clamp front, toe clip size, chainring sizes, but 53 / 42 was most common.
With the kit came the card that gave you access to be allowed to buy replacement parts... good luck now.

Why did they not supply freewheels with the gruppo?
I suppose that cog technology was not as sophisticated and chain-specific as it is now.
